Hello out there…
three topics to discuss today:
a) dad update
b) running update
c) much missed Yankees baseball update
Dad Update…Dad is doing… ehhhh….He is still in the hospital. It has now been a week and a half (since last Tuesday evening). He’s only been semi-conscious for the vast majority of it (or all of it even?). So yeah, that sucks. They kept finding new things wrong with him that were affecting his recovery from the initial surgery. He is in fact doing much better now, they tell me (because of my schedule at work and them not always wanting visitors around, I’ve only been able to visit him once). I expect he’ll probably be home sometime in the next week (just an estimate).
Running Update…If I continue to run, I beleive this will be one of the best things I have ever done for myself. In just the two weeks I’ve been running, I’ve seen such major improvements. When I started, I could hardly run a quarter of a mile without stopping (if that, even). This morning, I ran 1.1 miles without stopping. i know it was 1.1 miles (not just 1 mile), because when I got home I plugged it into the Gmap Pedometer, which is the coolest invention ever. EVER! This was incredible. I wasn’t even that tired when I stopped. I don’t believe there was ever a point in my life in which I could do this, so I’m just amazed. I wish I had done this sooner.
Yankees Update…Yes folks, baseball season has officially started… and the Yankees are about where they were last year at this point in the season. They are 1 and 2. They started strong with a win in their first game of the season against Oakland on Monday (15-2), but then went on to lose their next two games in the series. They had last night off and will be playing Anaheim this evening. I hate when they play on the West Coast. I really didn’t get to see much of the first three games, because they were all played at 10pm EST. I’m genereally asleep long before they’re over. Perhaps I’ll catch some of tonight’s game against the Angels though.
Ok, that’s all for now folks! Have a great weekend
