The Original Frank Pepe Pizzeria

Last night Kevin and I went to Pepe’s for his father’s 65th birthday celebration. For those of you who are not familiar with Pepe’s Pizza, you are truly missing out. I personally consider it to be one of the best things about living in Connecticut.

Located on Wooster Street in New Haven (pizza mecca), it is the originator of the New Haven style pizza (the best in my opinion). You know you’re in for something special when you drive up and see lines forming out the door. The lines are always there and the devotees are always willing to put in the wait time. After all, good things come to those who wait.

The pizzas come out super hot with very thin and somewhat charred crusts, making it an experience like nothing you’ve ever had before. Simply phenomenal. With your first bite, you too will be a convert.

  1. really? i have been once and i wasnt impressed of course that was almost 10 years ago and i was probably in a less than stellar mood.

  2. uhoh, don’t let Kevin (or any of his family) hear you say that… you’ll be in big trouble, lady!

I love the stuff… I had never been before I met Kevin and I was pretty skeptical, but I have to say, I find it to just be a totally different experience from any other pizza I’ve had. I think it really is that good.
