I have recently started watching Mad Men on AMC. When I had that week off from work last month, there were a few days we spent at home doing as little as humanly possible, and in that time I watched just about all of season 2 of Mad Men through Comcast On Demand. This was actually just in time for the beginning of Season 3. How good am I? Anyway, this has quickly become my most favorite show on television, and if you’re not watching, you definitely should. What else are you doing with yourself at 10pm on Sunday?

Anyway, the other day, Kevin sent me this link to Med Men Yourself and I just found it really amusing and spent far too much time messing around with it (at 5:30 AM when I was supposed to be getting ready for work nonetheless), so I felt the need to share it with all of you. Oh and when you’re making your little 1960′s you, I say definitely go for the martini or even a cigarette… at work… because it’s like 1962 and you just don’t know any better. And because you can, damnit (I know I could have used a drink or two at the office the last few weeks)!

Futurama Cast May Not Return

I’ve always been a fan of Futurama and when I found out a month or so ago that they would be making 26 new episodes of the show that originally aired on Fox from 1999-2002 to show sometime in mid 2010, I was very excited, because I have of course seen just about every episode ever made about a half dozen times (especially since they started showing it on Comedy Central). It’s just a great show with really funny and intelligent writing and is one of the few shows that I really don’t mind watching over and over. It never gets old for me.

Today, however, I read that there is talk that the original cast may not be returning for the new episodes and are asking for pay increases amounting to several times what they used to make. That’s really disappointing news. I’m sure the show will still be really great either way, but it just won’t be the same…

American Idol Top 3: Who’s Going Home?

Awww shit! It’s that time again!

So we’re down to 3… and someone’s going home tonight. This is where it really gets exciting. I won’t lie, I really am excited – even though, overall, American Idol causes me ridiculous amounts of hate and rage every damn season. But I am excited.

So yeah, America, if Adam ends up going home tonight you’ll have disappointed me almost as badly as that time you re-elected Bush back in 2004. Don’t make me consider moving to Canada twice in less than a five year period.

So have you guys seen this? It’s pretty amazing… and I must say, more than a little strange. I’ve read a few things today comparing this guy to Adam Lambert from this season’s American Idol. Ummm yeah, not so much.

AT&T U-Verse

So Kevin and I are considering switching our cable/internet/phone package from Comcast over to AT&T U-Verse, as it is now available in our area and I’ve been harassing Kevin about wanting some form of DVR, because everyone I know has that option and I feel like we’re living in the Dark Ages.

I may hate television, but really that’s not due to a of lack of good programming (sure, there’s a lot of HORRENDOUS stuff on, but there are some bright spots as well). We have tons of channels and there’s a lot on – just nothing I want to watch when I want to watch it. Also, during the week, there are a couple of shows that I would love to watch and think I would enjoy, but they unfortunately conflict with other viewing commitments.

And anyway, while Comcast does offer the DVR option, in comparing the packages offered it just seems that you can get a lot more bang for your buck with AT&T U-Verse.

We unfortunately don’t really know anyone who has the service or has used it and it would be nice to hear from someone who has actually had some experience with it.

Anyone have them? If so, your opinions on it?

I am totally looking forward to this show. Everything Mike Judge does is pure genius and, from what I’ve seen, The Goode Family looks to be no different.

Judge’s new show is about an ultra politically correct eco-conscious family. Footage on this show has been scarce. This preview below has creator and cast interviews along with the first fully animated snippets that have been made public.

RIP Bea Arthur

Bea Arthur died today at the age of 86 in her home in Los Angeles. I was always a fan of hers and considered her to be the most glittering of all the Golden Girls.

Why I Watch American Idol

I have no friggin’ clue…

It would certainly have to be categorized as a guilty pleasure. I do feel guilty for it. I would like to think that as lame as I am, I am still too cool to watch American Idol. Yet I watch every week – and I don’t really enjoy it for the most part. I don’t like the contestants – not a one of them. In fact, I really dislike the vast majority of them. They are all very talented – no doubt about it. I just don’t like them.

At times, the show even stirs up a certain level of homicidal rage that I was not aware that I was capable of. But I watch… Perhaps that’s the reason I watch. Maybe my life is just that boring that I need something to cause me insane levels of anger that I just would never otherwise feel.
