This is just a reminder to my local readers that if they’re looking for something fun and affordable to do, they should definitely check out Night of The Musical Dead at the The Hole In The Wall Theater in New Britain, CT. My brother will be playing the part of Reverend Jeremiah Wrongfellow, so I know I will be attending at least one show! Friday was opening night and my mom said it was really funny and just an all around great performance. From looking at the information on the site, it looks really awesome and I can’t wait to see it!

Show dates are Friday and Saturdays at 8pm now through August 22nd. There will also be a couple of Sunday matinees, showing at 2pm on August 2nd and 16th. Admission is a suggested donation of $25.

OK, I’ll admit it…I’m an NPR geek. I listen all the time – to and from work, all day when I’m working from home, weekend mornings (gotta have my Car Talk)… all the time. I wasn’t always this way. I blame Kevin, because he’s the one who really got me started on it. And I must confess, I do feel like a better person for it. I feel like I really know what’s going on in the world around me (even more than I did while I was studying Political Science)… unless it’s celebrity gossip or top 40 radio – I’m not so good at keeping up with that stuff, but again, I feel like a better person for that

Tonight, Kevin and I will be attending This American Life Live!. I’m not exactly sure what to expect, but I’m totally stoked nonetheless. This American Life has always been one of my favorite NPR programs, so this should be pretty sweet.

So my brother’s going to be in another show this Summer – Night of the Musical Dead at the Hole in the Wall Theater in New Britain, CT. I’ll of course provide more information as I get it, but it looks like it will be showing in July. If you’re in the area, you should definitely check it out. It should be a great time!

Live Old Time Radio

On Friday night, Tom, Heather, Kevin and I went to see my brother Dan in the Hole In The Wall Theater’s production of Live Old Time Radio.

The show is exactly what it sounds like – a series of skits and musical numbers taken directly from popular radio shows from the Golden Age of Radio. Viewers can see old favorites such as Sam Spade, Burns and Allen, Doris Day, Bob Hope, Baby Snooks, Flash Gordon and Popeye.

The venue, the Hole in the Wall Theater, is a small intimate setting that is perfect for a production such as this. One really feels as if they are a part of the show. Overall it’s just a really good time and I would highly recommend that anyone in the area go check the show out.

Admission is a suggested donation of $20 and they’ll be playing Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm through April 18th with two Sunday matinees showing at 2pm on March 29th and April 5th.

Live Old Time Radio

So my younger brother Dan is in another show. It’s entitled Live Old Time Radio (yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like) and will be showing on Fridays and Saturday evenings at 8pm from March 20th through April 18th and two Sunday matinees on March 29th and April 5th at The Hole In The Wall Theater in New Britain, CT. Admission is a suggested donation of $20.

If interested, you should definitely check it out. I will be going to at least one performance (especially since it’s so close to my house). I should also mention it’s next to a great little bar – The Hardware City Tavern. So come on out, grab some food, see what should be a great performance and make a night of it!
