The annual Katesmas Eve celebration went well — everything went as planned. Tom, Heather, Jenn, Dan, Kevin and I had a few drinks and some snacks over our place, then went to the Corner Pug, and then cam back to our house. Good times were had.
Jenn and Dan lamed out on us and went home after the Pug, meaning they wouldn’t get to partake in the wonderful cake that I slaved over all day. This, it turns out, was fine. It was fine, because nobody had the damn cake (I guess we just sort of forgot – I fell asleep around 1 I think). NOBODY HAD MY CAKE with the delicious pink peppermint flavored frosting and peppermint sprinkles, and the delicious chocolate cakiness, but I’m not bitter or anything. 3/4 of that cake is still sitting in my refrigerator a week later. It’s getting to the point where I really think we need to just toss it. Just sad…
The next day was my actual birthday, which was spent recovering and then we went to my parents’ house for dinner with the family and extended family. Everything of course was wonderful.
The most wonderful part was the gift my parents bought me, something I didn’t even know I wanted, but oh… now I know.
They bought me an AEROGARDEN for my kitchen and in the next couple weeks I should have delicious delicious herbs… lots and lots of basil, so I can start making pesto again on a regular basis. W00t! The cats have requested that we plant catnip and my dear brother, of course, has requested that a different sort of herb be planted… right.
